E-T Energy is engaged in the business of developing, operating, producing and selling recoverable bitumen found in the Athabasca oil sands deposits using the ET-DSP™ in situ method of production.

The ET-DSP™ method process involves passing electrical current from surface power distribution equipment.

 

 

Consultation and Regulatory

From its inception, E -T Energy has tried to develop strong relationships with stakeholders from both the regulatory sphere and within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. A key success factor for our future expansion will be our relationships with our neighbors and we are committed to extensive and open communication with stakeholders. E-T Energy’s operations in the Athabasca area are close to several First Nations communities. E-T Energy recognizes the unique heritage, culture, and rights of Alberta’s First Nation and Metis people and will strive to include them in benefits including employment and business opportunities that result from our oil sands project.

Consultation

E-T Energy has been conducting notification and consultation activities in support of a 10,000 b/d bitumen production application that is planned for completion in the 2nd quarter of 2009. As part of these activities, E-T Energy will be hosting a site visit to the Field Test Site and project presentation for members of the First Nations. In addition, there be an Open House held on March 30, 2009 in Fort McMurray that will be open to the public.

Regulatory

Field Test Site Activities
For activities associated with the Field Test Site, E-T Energy has prepared and submitted the appropriate applications and received approvals. These approvals are listed below. E-T Energy is planning to continue field test activities beyond the scope of the Expanded Field Test and will submit the appropriate applications to amend the existing approvals in 2009.

Commercial Development
A joint application to ERCB and AENV is being prepared for a 10,000 b/d bitumen production facility. The application is planned for submittal to ERCB and AENV n the 2nd quarter of 2009. Additional applications will be prepared and submitted to ASRD for the associated MSL and MLLs.

In addition, applications are being prepared to support construction of a new access road to the project and connection of the access road to Highway 63. On behalf of E-T Energy, ATCO Electric will be making an application for a new 50 MW substation to provide the electrical power required for the project.
